When it comes to athletes sometimes the players smaile, and sometimes they don’t. We can’t “make” them do anything. And why does it matter? Let’s showcase the kids and who they are. If you prefer a smiling athlete, have a discussion before the shoot about why you feel its important to smile. The worst thing that can happen is a parent who’s overlooking our photographers coaching the kid to “smile”, or “not that smile”. This kind of pressure almost guarantees you won’t be happy with your athletes expression.
